Must-See TV for Fantasy Footballers

AuthorLord Castleton | CommentPost a Comment | DateNovember 30, 2010 |

I think I watch everything you can related to NFL football.

I watch NFL live, and Primetime.  I watch countdown shows and pre-game shows and roundup shows.  I watch Sound FX and Playbook and the Coaches Show.  I listen to NFL satellite radio and Fantasy Radio.  I have the NFL network and ESPN blaring in the background all day long.  I watch "The League". Sometimes. But I say this to you:

THE GENTLEMEN'S LEAGUE keeps fucking killing it.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me to add a great show to the rotation.  After existing on a high from the South Park episode "Creme Fraiche" for like two weeks, which was sublime, inspired and further cements Trey Parker as my personal savior, I was happy to make room for The Gentlemen's League.

Actually, it made room for itself.  That's what great shows do.  They demand to be seen.

And I'm happy to oblige.

What they're doing is subtle, so some of our dumber readers might not get it.  Quick and easy test:  Watch The Gentlemen's League.  If you don't get it, you're one of our dumber readers.  Sorry.

And we do have some dumb readers:

Nov 3rd, from "J.P. in Little Rock": If i had a nickle for every tim a girl turned me down for head id end up owing somebody nickles

Sept 15th, from "Lacie": this is the worst sight ever.  if you think peyton hills is anything more than a full back, u r even dummer than u look

Aug 29th, from "Saratoga Mike": hey guys can you tell me if i'm typing your name correctly or not? i keep typing ugly fours in my browswer but all i get is ugly betty

So, yeah, we have a few.

My favorite moment from the last episode. These guys don't leave jokes on the table. But do yourselves a favor, and take a few savory minutes out of your week to enjoy the everliving shit out of The Gentlemen's League.  It's a goddamn pleasure.

In this day and age of assholes pissing blue in a pool and pretending that's funny, it's so nice when a show gets it right.  So get behind it, people.  You see network shows every day that have bigger names, millions of dollars in budgets and still don't have the character and timing that this show has in its pinkie.  And by pinkie, I mean ballbag.  And while I love the ten minutes or so we get every week, I'd love to see a full 30 minute format.

Find every episode of The Gentlemen's League Wednesday nights on DirecTV's 101.  And if you don't get DirecTV, and somehow magically exist without NFL Sunday Ticket, fine.

You can get every episode of The Gentlemen's League the day after it airs at the Gentlemen's League Facebook page, here.

And if you don't have a Facebook account, it seems like the DirecTV website is hosting the latest episode of the show on their website here, but not sure about that.

I heart Fat Sal. And everyone else on the show.

(South Park side note: It's contractually down, but after Dec 17th, watch "Creme Fraiche" here.  And feel joy.)
